Drunk Elephant Saved My Skin?!

I have struggled with acne for years and have been on the hunt for products that could help keep my skin glowy and clear. About a year ago I had tried Curology to see if it could help clear my skin. I had seen it all over youtube and it was hyped up by so many different people I figured why not? That’s when my skin became the worst it has ever been since I was in highschool! My acne was worse than before I started using it.

It was terrible and I was desperate to find anything that would reverse the damage. I started doing some research and decided to try out the TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum. Now these products can be expensive so I went for the trial sizes. Who wants to spend a bunch of money on a product and then it end up not working? The kit came with the TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum and the Virgin Marula Oil. Over time as I kept using it I loved it! It really made a difference in my skin and started reducing the damage that Curology did. Over time I started trying more of their products such as the Protini Peptide Moisturizer, Sukari Baby Facial, B Hydra Serum and the A-Passioni Retinol. These are the stand out products from the brand in my opinion.

The TLC Glycolic Night Serum and the Sukari Baby Facial are great products for physical exfoliation. Glycolic acid has been a staple in my skin care routine for years. It does a great job of really getting deep into the skin and helping to unclog pores and remove dead skin. I would use the TLC Framboos as my nightly serum and would use the Sakuri Baby Facial once a week. The Sukari Baby Facial can be intense as it has a 25% AHA & BHA blend compared to the 12% in the serum. As I always say, if this is your first time using chemical exfoliants start off slow with maybe a 5% concentration and gradually work up from there. Since my esthetician recommended 10% and I had no previous adverse reactions I felt confident in what my skin can handle. The Baby Facial has a slight tingling sensation but it did not burn which is an important distinction. (It should never burn. If it does just wash it off) Pair any of these with the Virgin Marula oil to keep the skin hydrated. The oil has vitamin E which has been known for it’s healing properties so it is perfect to help soothe the skin! It is not an essential but it is nice to have.

When Drunk Elephant came out with A-Passioni I was so excited! Retinol (Also known as vitamin A) Has been known to be amazing for anti aging as well as helping with acne. I was excited to give it a try and I have loved it ever since! It was actually the first product from the brand that I bought it’s full size. I use this product once a week at night after I take off my makeup and cleanse with a gentle cleanser. You do not want to mix retiol with AHA’s & BHA’s as it could cause a negative reaction. Better to be safe than sorry. This product is potent but not too much. I saw results literally the next morning! I was so surprised how much my texture seemed to improve! This product comes with a sample of their B Hydra Moisturizing Serum. It is great for hydrating and is formulated to help retain the moisture in your skin.

At first I was not a fan of B Hydra. Alone it does not feel that hydrating and feels a bit sticky. However, when paired with the Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer it is a match made in heaven! The moisturizer claims to help with skin texture and I think it lives up to those claims! It kept my face feeling hydrated while improving the texture on my cheeks and my acne scarring. It also has a gel texture which I love in moisturizers as I feel it doesn’t clog my pores. My boyfriend has even become a fan of the moisturizer and has seen improvements in his skin.

This is one of the first skin care brands that I feel has truly helped to improve my skin. All the products work beautifully together and create a recipe for clear skin. Skin care is personal and not one size fits all but throughout using these products I continued to be impressed! It helped me get back to better skin and reverse the effects I experienced with Curology.
