I have had acne prone skin my whole life. I have tried every system from Proactiv to Curology and NOTHING seemed to work! There is one ingredient however, that changed the game for me in my search for clear skin: Glycolic Acid. My dermatologist had recommended I start using it and since then I have not gone back. Chemical exfoliation has done wonders for my skin! I have been on the search for the best chemical exfoliating products and these have quickly become holy grails! These are the first products I recommend to anyone who is looking to add a new serum into their skin care routine.
The Farmacy Honeymoon Glow and the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum are serums that have AHA’s and BHA’s which work together to exfoliate the skin. If you are new to chemical exfoliation I would recommend starting with TLC Framboos as it has a lower concentration. TLC Framboos has a 12% AHA and BHA blend while the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow has a blend of 14%. (Although I do think you get a bit more bang for your buck with the Farmacy serum as it offers a higher concentration for a lower price!) In either case you should start off by using these products once a week to see how your skin will react. You may feel a gentle tingle but it should never burn.
Skin Care is an investment and while these products are expensive I do not mind paying higher prices if the product is going to work. I noticed a visible difference in my skin texture after just a few weeks of use! I credit these products with helping to get my skin on the right track. Overall, you can’t go wrong with either product and I highly recommend if you have acne prone skin!
